PortoVase is a gift pack for transporting cut flowers in water without any danger of water spillage, even if the vase is tipped on its side.
The PortoVase is easy to fill and not only holds the arranged flowers in position perfectly during transportation, but when the bouquet reaches the shop it is ready to display.
And when the flowers have faded? By simply removing the bouquet, the inner ring and the absorbent medium, the consumer is left with a vase that can be used again and again.
The PortoVase is available in a single size (20 cm high with a top diameter of 16 cm). The vases and lids are available from stock in four opaque colours: cream, green, violet and red.

How does the PortoVase work?
The PortoVase is a plastic vase with a disposable plastic inner ring. The inner ring serves as a weir that stops water leaking out, even if the vase is lying on its side, and also has gripping ‘fingers’ to hold the bouquet in place. The bottom section of the vase is filled with a water-absorbent medium. Before inserting the bouquet in the vase 500 ml of water is poured over the medium. Research has shown that this is sufficient to keep the bouquet fresh during two days transportation at 5° C followed by four days point-of-sale display at a shop temperature of 20 °C.
The PortoVase is suitable for various types of bouquets comprising between 25 and 35 stems with a stem length of 30 to 50 cm.
