Adding water to airfreight packaging units can be problematic where aircraft also carry passengers. Airlines often regard ‘unsecured’ water as a safety taboo.
Pagter Innovations’ packaging solutions enable you to airfreight cut flowers efficiently and safely.
With Procona and the Procona Sponge you can package cut flowers in Procona units, in the usual way. Instead of adding several litres of water, a Procona Sponge with the set amount of water is placed at the bottom of the Procona unit. This way, stems standing on the Procona Sponge stay moist. The amount of water in the Procona Sponge will depend on the type of flower, travel duration and temperature (calculated to ’bridge’ flight-time). On arrival the Procona is topped-up with water via the hand grips. This way you can be sure that the flowers in Procona are always in water – even in the air! Re-packaging is no longer required.
Stems have access to the water in the Procona Sponge. If a packaging unit should accidentally topple over, there will be minimal or no spillage.
Pagter Innovations has developed special 100 x 120 cm pallets for loading air freight pallets. These fit perfectly on P-6, PIP and PAG air freight pallets and are a popular solution for maximum utilisation of space on air-freight pallets. Compared with separate loading of packaging units this boosts load capacity by around 8%.
