A collar is fitted around the flowers, on the base. The collar has cut-outs for the ventilation openings in the lid. This ensures that the collar fully supports the lid. There are collar sizes for a range of stem lengths. Collars are 5 cm higher than stems. Some types of flowers will grow several centimeters and the extra 5 cm prevents them touching the lid.
