Cardboard
Cardboard collars are made of corrugated cardboard. The strength of this material is determined by the thickness of the paper used and the height of the corrugation. Collars for Florida are always made of C-corrugated cardboard – this is 4 mm high and is more rigid than other types. The paper used is also high quality. Selecting the right collar height
Height of total packaging is determined by the stem length of flowers to be packed. The Florida range features various heights – so collar height can also be determined by the container height – the higher the container – the lower the collar needs to be.
Florida collars standard quality
In general a margin of a few centimetres space above the flower heads is needed to prevent damage to the heads. What’s more - flowers keep growing while being transported. For Florida 25 and 35 the margin is 5 cm, and for Florida 18 it is 3 cm.

Conical collars for Florida 18 with hooks
Conical collars are available especially for the Florida 18 container with hooks. The combination of Florida 18 with hooks and conical
collars is ideal for use on auction trolleys. The fact that these collars are conically shaped prevents the use of lids. This means that
this packaging is not stackable. The collar flares outwards and upwards so that more flowers fit in this packaging than in the standard
Florida containers (applies to conical bunches).
Thanks to the exterior dimension of these collars (26 x 32 cm) eight packages fit on one layer in an auction trolley.
This packaging is ideal for clients who transport flowers on auction trolleys. The advantage is that the packaging is square and so much
more stable than a round bucket. Moreover, the collar protects long flowers and enables excellent presentation.
The conical collars for Florida 18 with hooks come in a choice of 5 heights. Hence, there’s a collar for most current stem lengths.

Florida collars with re-closable flap
The flower buds are visible through the openings in the lid. When checking the quality of stem and leaf the closed lid of the Procona packaging should be opened and the strapping band removed.
The loose flap enables checking of the contents of the Florida 18 container with collar and lid. The loose flap can be opened and closed without removing the strapping band. This collar is ideal for use at auctions.

Collars are an important part of Procona packaging. Alongside the container the collar determines the height of the packaging. The packaging is stackable – hence tough demands are imposed on the quality of the collar. Collars can be made of corrugated cardboard or plastic (extruded polypropylene).
Height of total packaging is determined by the stem length of flowers to be packed. The Florida range features various heights – so collar height can also be determined by the container height – the higher the container – the lower the collar needs to be.
