A processing line has been developed for packaging Gerberas in Gerona. This line comprises the followong:

• Insertion table
• Water dosing machine
• Strapping machine (table model)

Packaging geronas is much easier with this processing line.

Insertion table

There are different models of insertion tables. And for every type of interior there is a separate insertion table. As the Gerbera stems do not need to be watered in advance the insertion table also acts as a buffer.

Water dosing machine

The bags in the tray must be filled with water. A manual water dosing machine has been developed for this. It can fill both bags evenly in a single movement.

It is important to add a rose pre-treatment solution to the water. You can use a dosing pump for this or a manual pump. Each bag (content around 2 liters of water) should be filled with 4 ml rose pre-treatment.

Strapping machine

Once the interiors have been placed in the tray and the collar and the lid have been placed on the packaging unit, it is closed with a strap.
